Episode 532- Thinner ft. The Werewolf Ambulance All-Stars (1996))

September 15, 2025·1 hr 26 min·5 clips
This is only the second revisiting episode the show has ever done. Katie and Alan bring back Vicki and Perry as the Werewolf Ambulance All-Stars, and the whole thing starts with the easy sideways rhythm of people who already know how to needle each other. The room gets weird fast. There are jokes about coming from the Pandy, about reading clocks, about The Nanny, and about leopard print skipping a generation, which is exactly the kind of nonsense that tells you the movie is not the only reason anyone showed up. Thinner still gets the beating. The crew treats it like a target that deserves another joke, and they keep circling back to the same complaint that the lead is such a jerk that almost every scene invites another joke. His clothes do not help. They keep talking about how badly the suit fits, how the pants sit, how the whole look feels like a suit that's too big, and how the silhouette somehow makes everything funnier. The anatomy jokes come fast. The conversation leans into absurd specifics about body proportions and custom tailoring, and the whole thing keeps snapping back to the same ridiculous physicality. Nobody lets the wife off easy either. The group keeps arguing through whether she is cheating, whether she is trapped, and whether the cruelest husband imaginable makes every other option feel like a bad idea with better lighting. They land on Heidi. The panel ends up defending the choice to side with Heidi against the husband, because when one character is that unbearable, even messy judgment starts to look like common sense. The recap keeps swerving. One minute it is movie criticism, the next it is a tangent about sandwiches, lost phones, or whatever else the scene shakes loose, and the speed of those pivots is a big part of the fun. It is rude but affectionate. The show does not pretend the movie is good, but it also does not treat the whole thing like homework, because the joke is as much in the friendship and the timing as it is in the verdict. The closing is warm. They wrap up by thanking the guests, calling the whole thing fun-ish in the most honest possible way, and pointing ahead to 28 Weeks Later for the next round. The episode runs 47 minutes.

A loose, funny revisit that turns a bad movie into a strong hangout.

Thinner gets a second pass in one of the show's few revisits, and the result is more rowdy take-down than tidy verdict. Katie and Alan bring in Vicki and Perry, and the four settle into the easy, slightly chaotic rhythm of people making each other laugh while they pick apart a…
