BONUS EPISODE - E3 2021 Predictions

·1 hr 5 min·5 clips
Greg and Sam kick off their first E3 predictions in three years with a bold call for a New Super Mario Bros. 3 remake.
Greg Hall and Sam Mottara host a special bonus episode dedicated to predicting announcements for E3 2021 and the surrounding Summer Game Fest. They explain this episode is a companion to their regular episode 239, released simultaneously. Greg outlines the format: he will text his predictions to Sam during the recording, assigning each a confidence score from 1 (bold) to 10 (lock). The predictions are organized by conference, starting with Nintendo's 40-minute Direct. Greg predicts a remake of Super Mario Bros. 3, a Mother collection including Mother 3, a new 2D Metroid game, a limited-release Zelda HD bundle, and Breath of the Wild 2 gameplay with a 2022 release. He also forecasts a new Donkey Kong game, a Smash Bros. fighter being Crash Bandicoot or Master Chief, a new Kirby game, a revival of an old Nintendo series, and no updates for Nintendo Switch Online or Bayonetta 3. Other Nintendo predictions include a Mario Golf free weekend, a Mario + Rabbids sequel, and Rare Replay coming to Switch. The discussion then moves to the Xbox and Bethesda showcase. Greg predicts a Banjo-Kazooie remake, a first look at the new BioShock game, a Halo Infinite blowout with a November 12 release, a Starfield trailer, Battletoads coming to Switch, and no new acquisitions announced. He also forecasts Psychonauts 2 release date, no Perfect Dark news, a side Gears game, Hellblade 2 gameplay, and an Alan Wake 2 teaser. The final section covers other conferences and Summer Game Fest. Predictions include Kojima's next game at Summer Game Fest, new PS Plus Collection games, a Twisted Metal remake, a Resistance HD collection, a new Star Wars game from EA, Resident Evil Village DLC, and release dates for Streets of Rage 4 DLC and a new TMNT game. The hosts plan to recap the actual announcements in a follow-up bonus episode.
