Edmond LaValle Presents: Hit Singles, the New Series by the Creators of Unseen

April 24, 2025·6 min
The episode opens with Edmund LaValle, in character from the Unseen audio fiction series, recording a voice message for Addison. He acknowledges her many attempts to reach him — five voicemails, 14 texts, three phantasmal summonings — and uses the opportunity to recommend a new series he has listened to. The series is Hit Singles, a romantic comedy audio fiction produced by Gabriella Urbina, Sarah Shackett, and Zach Valenti, the same creative team behind Unseen. Edmund describes the premise: Faith Adler, a young woman, goes to New York City for the summer to escape problems in her life and clear her head. She has no interest in romance. She meets a man on her first night. The show is described as being about the difficulty of sorting out your life at 26 when you feel behind where you should be, and also follows three best friends navigating their own romantic and personal situations. Edmund explains that Hit Singles is available on Audible, either for purchase or included with an Audible Plus subscription. A preview clip from the series follows. In it, Faith introduces herself as someone who intends to become the greatest DJ in America but is currently unemployed and crashing on her best friend Tori's couch in New York. Tori's storyline involves trying to spend a summer without dating someone controlling. Another character — described as New York City's greatest bisexual f***boy — lives next door and jokes about being committed to multiple people simultaneously. A fourth character named Gina has secretly had a crush on Tori for three years. Faith introduces her central love interest David in a fire escape scene. The preview closes with Faith delivering a rapid self-description of the summer as complicated, funny, competitive, and music-filled.
