In The Den w/ Koko, Renee & Jen- Work Life Balance Pt 1

December 4, 2025·38 min·2 clips
Renee explains why her work email has an automatic reply after 3 PM and ignores all calls and texts.
The break did not feel simple. Coco, Jen, and Renee settle back into the den by checking on Thanksgiving, and the answers sound like work-life balance before anyone names it. One person had peace alone. Another was waiting for an educator's week off, then got a full house, good company, and almost no rest. That little mismatch is where the episode finds its groove. The conversation moves into clients, friends, family, and personal time, all the places that can pile into one space until someone has to draw a line. Coco is direct about clients. Friends and family may get some wiggle room, but paid work does not get every hour, every mood, or instant access. She still leaves room for care. If a music artist client is performing, she may watch closely, check that things look good, and bring back feedback they can use. The line is not about doing less. It is about keeping the work useful without letting it eat the person doing the writing, watching, and scheduling. Writing gets its own fence around it too. Coco talks about giving it a couple of hours, stopping on purpose, and moving into her own time. That private time sounds seriously cherished: movies, Bible reading, a good book, a chair in the room, and the foot stool she wants. Decompression does not get treated like a fancy extra. The panel keeps coming back to the same lived-in point: single or married, hosting or hiding out, busy people still need a little space before the pressure stacks up. A hot bath can count. So can bubbles, music, holiday songs, staying in the room, and making it clear that being in the room does not mean popping right back out. They leave the topic open, because there is more to say. This first pass feels like the door opening for part two.
