France Ditches Teams, Calls Get Meets Interoperability, Duanex CEO talks Ditching Slack for Teams

February 11, 2026·31 min·2 clips
France is ditching Teams and Zoom for its own government video platform by 2027.
The month starts with sovereignty. Christian McCann brings Kevin Keeler into the February Microsoft Teams show, then puts France's plan on the table: move government video away from Teams and Zoom by 2027. The question is practical, not abstract. Digital sovereignty becomes a collaboration problem, with politics and nationalism now reaching unified communications. Then the panel gets into the admin work. Kevin says Microsoft is adding useful tools, but the experience still feels split between the interface and PowerShell. Satish makes the sharper point. External collaboration can be locked down by domain or left open by default, so the control surface matters. That is the familiar Teams admin bargain: the controls may exist, but admins are still waiting for the Teams admin center to make them easier to use. Vendors sit in that gap for now. Satish says their granular controls still matter while Microsoft keeps pulling more admin work into its own platform. Branded reactions get a chillier read. Microsoft will let companies swap standard meeting emojis for branded reactions, but the panel does not see much everyday value there. Kevin leaves one small door open. Big Microsoft shops sometimes ask for odd, specific features, and Microsoft may be answering that kind of request. Oleg closes with the migration story, explaining why his business has paid for both Slack and Teams for five years while Teams caught up. Satish adds that Microsoft's native Slack to Teams migration can move channels, storage, and related Slack information into Teams.
