Nick's gang smashes through a plaster wall to rob a Chicago currency exchange of over $14,000.

The episode opens with retired Chicago Police Lieutenant Thomas J. McGrath introducing the case in cooperation with Don Gardner of the Gangbusters production. The scene shifts to Bella Mama's candy store, where Red brings the robbery plan to gang boss Nick LoCocco while Harry, an ex-convict barber who learned the trade in prison, cuts Nick's hair. Red's scheme involves breaking into a gift shop the night before, cutting through the shared wall with the neighboring currency exchange, and robbing the money wagon after it delivers cash. The gang neutralizes the gift shop owner with a blow to the head and spends the night cutting through plaster. When the money truck departs, they sledgehammer through the final layer and jump into the exchange with guns drawn, herding cashiers and staff into a closet before anyone can press a foot-activated alarm. They leave with $14,332. After the robbery, Nick immediately schemes to cut Harry out of his share. He pays Bella Mama $100 to stall Harry and splits the proceeds with Red only. When Red asks about Harry's fate, Nick hints at the lake. Red warns Nick not to try the same with him. Police quickly move to investigate: Captain Rogers interviews gift shop owner Mr. Cline at the hospital, who reveals he secretly observed a bathing beauty tattoo on the right forearm of the man who dragged him. This detail leads police to a photo identification of Harry Wagner. When police raid Harry's apartment, they find him cowering in a closet, convinced Nick's men have come to kill him. Harry spills enough information to confirm the gang's identity. Meanwhile, Nick and Red grow suspicious of each other as they plan a third job. Police surveil Bella Mama's candy store and eventually tail the car carrying Nick and Red. A high-speed pursuit ends in a roadside arrest. Both men are convicted and sentenced to 40 years each at Illinois State Penitentiary in Statesville.
