Two In The Think Tank

498 - "NOT WITH THAT ALTITUDE"

·1 hr 2 min·5 clips
Andy and Al record Australia's 'most elevated podcast' while driving through the mountains to visit Al's nana.
The road is doing bits. Andy and Alistair are briefly back together in Australia, driving through the Monaro region near Cooma while the show declares itself the Alpine edition and maybe Australia's most elevated podcast. GPS instructions start heckling from the sidelines. The Great Dividing Range stops being scenery and gets treated like a podcast character, which is the kind of stupid paperwork this show will honor if it gets a laugh. Then chickens enter the room. A riff about attraction, competition, and male chickens turns into a warped fairness hearing where the rules punish nearly everyone in a different way. The premise never gets to stay normal. The logic keeps folding in on itself: the person who cares most gets the least time, the person least comfortable still gets penalized, and the apparent winner starts to look morally dodgy. It is a sketch notebook on wheels. The hosts keep clocking hills, mountains, birds, and maybe dams, then dragging those observations straight into the joke machinery before anyone can tidy the sentence up. The landscape refuses to sit quietly in the background. A gray cockatoo, a GPS prompt, or an argument over whether something is a mountain or a hill can knock the whole thing sideways. The episode feels written while moving. Phrases like bank bank, mountainous hills, dirt dam, slipway, and spillway get picked up like odd little objects that might become sketches if somebody grabs them quickly enough. The title's altitude joke is doing work. Being physically higher gives the banter permission to act grand, then immediately undercut itself with crude design logic and road trip distraction. By the end, dams have taken over. They circle slipway and spillway, maybe pass another dam, remember the five inch episode on YouTube, and fall into an ad read about a mixer and a million-dollar sale. It is messy by design. The fun is hearing two comics build a nonsense institution, question its ethics, mislabel the scenery, and keep driving before sense catches up.

As heard by us

A mountain drive turns a rooster contest into crooked sketch fuel.

Two In The Think Tank turns a drive through Australia's Monaro region into a relaxed comedy workshop, with Andy and Alistair recording near Cooma as they move through the Great Dividing Range. The setting does more than frame the episode.

Why you'd press play

You get an alpine car-ride brainstorm where a rooster game keeps twisting as mountains, hills, GPS directions, and dams barge into the conversation.
