Total Party Kill

Sleep Without Trace

·59 min·5 clips
Descending into the ruins, the group finds cultists and two horrifying floating brain monsters with barbed tentacles.
The episode continues the Candlekeep Mysteries adventure 'Sarah of Yellowcrest Manor,' where the party aims to solve a cold-case murder. Dungeon Master Tony Sindelar introduces the players: Kathy Campbell as Hermione the centaur fighter, James Dobson as Niasse Nightweaver the high elf rogue, Tiff Armit as Pauly Quartz the druid, Jason Snell as Nis the lizard folk sorcerer, and Erika Ensign as Fritat Ha the Goliath barbarian. The group starts in Greenfast, breaking into Lord Vialis's cottage at night, only to find it suspiciously empty and staged. After resting, they travel to ruins outside town, using Pass Without Trace for stealth. They discover an underground chamber with four cultists and two floating brain monsters. Nis disguises herself as the elf Feral using Disguise Self and deceives the cultists into leading them to Lord Vialis. In a cathedral-like chamber, Lord Vialis is performing a ritual, sacrificing bodies to summon more brain monsters. He mistakes the party for new recruits. After some deliberation, Nis casts Wall of Fire, hitting Lord Vialis, his bodyguards, and a brain monster, triggering a battle that will continue in the next session. The episode blends investigation, stealth, deception, and combat, with humorous player banter throughout.
