Who should Man Utd's next manager be?

February 4, 2026·1 hr 20 min·7 clips
Joe and John debate who should be Manchester United's next permanent manager after Michael Carrick's interim start.
Two hosts, one substitute producer. Joe Devine and John McKenzie start by admitting the room has loosened up because Steve Hankey is away unwell in Cambridgeshire. Grayson gets renamed Darth Grayson, which sends everyone chasing Star Wars lines they cannot quite remember before drifting into another fantasy series by mistake. Football has to wait. The clip has the usual Tifo rhythm: someone sets up a point, someone else pokes at it, and suddenly the whole thing has wandered off somewhere funnier. Man United fans are technically the audience, but this is less sober manager chat and more two football friends putting off the meeting while still knowing the meeting matters. Then the blinds conversation arrives. One host explains that his flat has frosted windows, a high view, and no real need for curtains. Somehow, the ethics become serious. Roof workers nearby may or may not be able to see into the flat, so a small domestic habit turns into a mock legal and moral puzzle. Nobody rushes it, which is most of the joke. Eventually the clock gets them. They admit they have not reached topic two, and the intro still needs doing. Grayson is left with the production admin. The manager answer, when it finally appears, is plain enough: Julian Nagelsmann if possible, Michael Carrick if not. The analysis is nearby, but the room keeps choosing the bit.
