·12 min·1 clip

Flames encircled Polycarp's body like an arch without touching him, until a sword thrust released blood that extinguished the fire.

This episode explores the Fourth Persecution of Christians under Roman Emperor Marcus Aurelius Antoninus, detailing the martyrdoms of key figures like Polycarp and Justin the Philosopher. It then transitions to readings from Augustine's 'Confessions' and Aquinas's 'Summa Theologica,' examining theological concepts of divine essence and personhood.
