Peace and love sets the room. Brother Ali starts on a beautiful evening in Uskudar, near the Bosphorus, with Ramadan setting the tone before any formal topic shows up. He is checking in, more than presenting. The DJ Abilities conversation is waiting, and there is a tour to discuss, but the last ten days or so have been too full to tuck away. Then his body takes over the episode. A painful, uncertain health situation sends him into tests. He is told it does not seem cancerous, infectious, or like a hernia, but it still has no name. Maher Zane turns a medical errand into a small map of English-language Islamic music, global fame, friendship, and local trust. The exam is rough. Brother Ali describes yelping through the most painful examination he has ever had, but the room stays warm because he is talking to listeners like kin. By the end, the episode turns devotional again. He brings people back to the caravan, the mailing list, the vinyl, and the community around his work. Faith is not pasted on at the end. Ramadan, Islam, curious listeners, correspondence, and the caravan all sit beside pain in the same lived conversation. He leaves with love.
