Meet the Team Series: Strategic Insights in Healthcare with Dr. DeOnna Clark

·26 min·1 clip
Dr. DeOnna Clark says occupational therapy is about "what we do every day to live."
The episode opens by introducing a new Meet the Team series. Lauren says she wants listeners to know more of the team as Social Impact Solutions keeps growing. She welcomes Deanna Clark, one of the team's members and one of her longtime friends. The conversation keeps circling back to the podcast's purpose of helping mission-driven leaders measure and market social impact so they can raise more money and do more good. Deanna explains that she first joined on a consultant basis. Her early work centered on impact measurement deliverables. It also covered strategic planning deliverables. She names logic models, theories of change, and stakeholder research as part of that work. She says it was fun. She also ties that work to the DRPH training she had received and used with nonprofit clients. Later, she moved more fully into the podcast. She describes that shift as exciting. It gave her a new way to help the community measure impact and do more good. Deanna talks about the behind-the-scenes side of the show. That includes production and planning. She says the goal is not just to make fun content and hope it is entertaining. Instead, the aim is to help listeners leave with value. She gives the example of hearing something and then being able to do X or understand X better. The episode also notes that the podcast started in late 2024, early 2025 and has already had a lot of great conversations. It closes with lighter personal questions about liking podcasts, choosing a nature reset over city energy, and preferring sweets.
