The Show Episode 510

December 9, 2025·41 min·4 clips
The host's epic betting comeback collapsed when Jalen Hurts committed five turnovers for the Eagles.
The host opens on a bad betting week, and it sounds personal fast. He had clawed out of a Sunday morning hole and almost reached even before Philadelphia turned Sunday night into another loss. Jalen Hurts takes the heat: five turnovers, two packed into one sequence, and suddenly a clean recovery becomes a losing card. The Eagles pain is never separate from the bet. He checks the stands, checks Twitter, and treats the fan meltdown as part of the show, right next to the spread. Then he moves the rant to college football. Indiana and Ohio State were sitting there, in his view, ready to settle things again. Instead, expansion walks in wearing clown shoes. The 12-team playoff already feels to him like a mess sliding toward 16. James Madison gets the first sigh. Oregon laying 21.5 in a playoff game makes him keep asking what exactly they are supposed to play. Alabama and Oklahoma get pulled in next. They already played, Oklahoma won, Alabama gave away three turnovers, and now the bracket wants a sequel. Tulane gets about the same treatment. Ole Miss already beat them up, Lane Kiffin has left for LSU, coaches are moving around, and the host still sees 17.5 points of bad television. Miami and Texas A&M close out the complaint. Duke and Virginia make the ACC championship, miss the playoff, and the math feels upside down to him. He eases up at the end, a little. He says he is not the bad guy, thanks listeners for inching up every month, points people to the show, gives the nice-to-be-important signoff, and hands it to Hammerfall.

As heard by us

A betting miss turns into a sharp, fast-moving rant about the playoff format.

The host spends most of this episode in grievance mode, starting with a betting near-miss that turns into a long complaint about Jalen Hurts, overtime, and a week that looked ready to swing before Philadelphia spoiled it.
