March 10, 2026·52 min·1 clip

If he would have started the final over Nolan McClain, everyone would have understood that—he's got probably $400 million coming next season.

Baseball insiders John Heyman and Joel Sherman discuss the World Baseball Classic, with emphasis on pitcher Tarek Skubal's decision to limit his WBC participation to protect his major $400M+ contract with San Diego. They debate whether young Mets player Carson Benj will make the roster, analyze Jason Dominguez's development path, and explore how team construction decisions affect youth opportunities. Discussion covers spring training observations, free agent signings, and the unique timeline pressures of baseball versus NFL offseason.
