Adventure Encore: A Dinosaur Adventure, Part 2

·41 min·2 clips
A Quetzalcoatlus with a 35-foot wingspan scoops Albert up and carries the group with him.
Can you stay still, Reader? The adventure has dumped everyone in the Cretaceous period, and the cave suddenly looks like the only sane choice. Then the book bag falls. The Reading Bug wants to grab it, of course, but the others keep moving because the dinosaur is still coming. Inside the cave, everyone goes quiet and watches. The huge creature sniffs around outside, as if it is working out where the little group went. One thing is clear: it is not Albert. Those teeth, those claws, that massive body. The name lands hard. Tyrannosaurus rex. The episode lets the scare sit there for a beat, then turns it into a dinosaur lesson without killing the suspense. This creature is one of the biggest meat-eating land animals ever, with a mouth built for biting and sixty sharp, stabbing teeth. That is enough danger for any rainforest. Luckily, the T-rex does not seem to spot the tiny adventurers. Maybe they are too small. Maybe they smell strange. Then it notices the bag. The Reading Bug begs for the books inside as the dinosaur lifts the book bag in its claws, and home suddenly feels much farther away. Without that bag, the group cannot get back. Chasing a ten-ton, sharp-toothed monster is not much of a plan, either. The T-rex disappears into the rainforest, leaving a fast, nervy problem for kids to solve, with dinosaur facts tucked right into the chase.
