The Texas Rangers, a team built on hitting, are now winning with pitching and trying to sweep the Mariners for the first time in three years.
Happy Wednesday, and baseball is back. The show opens with the Rangers already playing Seattle, tied 0-0 with two outs in the top of the second as the room settles in. They liked last night's win. The bullpen gets its due, Kyle Hizagawa gets credit for the big hit, and the Mariners series gives them an easy place to start. Nobody turns it into a speech. Once the playoffs start, at least one voice is watching everything, the same way he treats Mavericks playoff years. That opens into a broader fan confession. Anthony Davis' reaction to the Luka trade gets replayed because the move still sounds rough out loud. Then the Rangers finish it off. They beat Seattle, the room notes the sweep, checks a couple of baseball finals, and hands off to the next show.
