The MODUS Files - A Fallout Audio Drama Podcast Series · Lawrence McNamara

Season 3 - Episode 20 "I Am Become Death - Part 1"

·2 hr 7 min·5 clips
Valeria's team faces a T-65 power armor and Gray operatives in a deadly hallway ambush.
Whitespring still knows how to smile. The bunker welcome talks about restored glory and refuge, but underneath it all are government remains, armed intruders, and missiles waiting for orders. The old hospitality goes sour fast. Gray One and the Reynolds RoboBrain watch the silo monitors as Valeria's people push through the command center, while the surface entrance turns into its own fight. Valeria got farther than she should have. She slipped into the silo without tripping their booby traps or alarms, which means the enemy missed a path into its own stronghold. That mistake is going to make noise. Power armor shows up, missiles sit ready, and the place feels less like a fortress than a clock with teeth. Then the road cuts to Point Pleasant. Red, Ares, and Shiny face more cultists spilling out near the vine-choked bridge. Red keeps the Deathclaw from eating anyone, for now, and tries manners before claws. The cultists are not exactly welcoming. They call on the wrath of the Mothman, reject non-believers, and only ease up when Red reveals herself as Red the Touched. That lands. The chanting drops, the bridge goes quiet, and a hooded figure steps forward to decide whether anyone gets to keep talking. Back in the fight, it gets worse. Maul tears through enemies with open delight while Lawson arrives where he should not be. Shadow can read the situation. Weasel is wounded, the Colonel has ordered a retreat to the vertibird, and the locked doors below make a deeper search sound like a one-way trip. Lawson hears it all. He still owes someone, and that debt keeps pulling him toward the place everyone else is trying to leave.

As heard by us

A countdown, a cult parley, and a retreat that keeps narrowing.

The episode moves between a bunker battle, a cult standoff, and a retreat that is already coming apart, and that shifting pressure is the point.
