The MODUS Files - A Fallout Audio Drama Podcast Series · Lawrence McNamara

Season 3 - Episode 16 "SODUS"

·1 hr 40 min·5 clips
Valeria reveals her plan to detonate a missile silo's warheads, igniting ultracite veins to destroy all of Appalachia and stop the Pact.
The Whitespring still knows how to smile. Its welcome speech gives the bunker a clean old-government shine: refuge, repaired halls, and an Enclave pulled back together from the wreckage above. Then Site J opens up. Stein brings Valeria and a chosen team into one of Eckhart's old research facilities, hoping the buried stockpiles can help against the Pact and MODIS. The place feels wrong before anyone says it. Wartime logic still hangs in the air, along with ruined plans, captured military sites, and a faction that keeps reaching for power through locked doors. Valeria finds Wes's note waiting for her. His words make her hold the story she grew up with beside the uglier record of what happened here and elsewhere. Duty starts to sound cheap. At the final containment cell, she finds darkness, charred wood, smoke, ash, and bones that do not fit the human shape. Some doors really should stay shut. When word comes that Stein is moving again, Valeria stops staring at whatever that cell wants her to understand. The next wing is worse in a louder way. Cafeteria and residential rooms sit ahead, and the warning says Scorched have overrun the area. Valeria keeps the team tight, section by section, weapons ready for anything that moves. Banter still cuts through the dark. Sophia stays close to Andrew with sharp care that sounds like a joke until it stops being one. Then the doors open. The Scorched are there in numbers, and SODUS was right about the former residents being present and badly behaved. The mission gets simple again. Whatever ally or arsenal brought them here, Site J wants them alive first.
