A concrete statue with a glittering crown appears silently in the endless palace, watching the retrieval team.
This episode of The Mistholme Museum of Mystery, Morbidity and Mortality is a horror-comedy audio drama in the SCP Foundation tradition, structured as a museum audio tour narrating supernatural exhibits. The episode opens with the museum's standard disclaimer — do not communicate with exhibits, deposit your audio device in the nearest incinerator if you believe the tour has deviated from its program, the museum is not liable for death or unfortunate stretching. The first exhibit is a retrieval expedition report from Team Skywhale, who traversed Glassway 037, which opened into a mirror in the bedroom of an apparently infinite concrete palace: every surface, every object, every piece of furniture was a single seamless concrete sculpture. The palace had the layout of a lived-in royal residence — kitchens with half-eaten concrete meals, unmade concrete beds, a great hall with thrones — suggesting it was inhabited up until the moment the team arrived. The team mapped it for a week, finding no end, no natural light, no life. As they prepared to leave, concrete humanoid figures appeared: androgynous, crown-bearing, seamlessly growing from the floor, having materialized silently behind the team. They filed out without incident as a door slowly began to close. The second exhibit tells the story of Cheyenne Fawes, a struggling lifestyle influencer living in a messy apartment who ran a red light and suffered a head injury in a car crash. During recovery she began seeing streams of colored light — energy flows — moving through her apartment. She rearranged her entire home to improve their flow, and the next morning felt transformed. Over a year she built a global consultancy reorganizing the homes of the rich and famous to manipulate energy flows, with clients experiencing disproportionate career success. Critics who challenged her science tended to meet misfortune — freak accidents, health crises, emotional spirals — with some alleging her team covertly sabotaged their homes. She eventually disappeared into an unmarked SUV, willingly according to CCTV. The prevailing conspiracy theory: she was hired by a shadowy power to design an entire city from the ground up to harness the world's energy on a scale that would give its controller unprecedented global power. The third segment begins a new mission briefing: Team Raptor is being sent through Glassway 601, which opens in a forest, to search for an undisclosed target. They are given strict protocols: no bargains with entities, no riddle contests, no true names. The Audio Tour Guide will serve as their live field communication relay. The episode ends mid-mission as the team steps through into a forest of 50-meter trees, with the guide commenting on everything until commanded to keep quiet.
