RQ Network Feed Drop – Hi Nay: Ep 1 – Bulok

March 16, 2026·36 min·2 clips
The creature melts under Mari's door like chicken fat, then reforms in her apartment before her salt and folk prayers cause it to bubble, smoke, and retreat.
The frame is openly promotional. Billy Hindle sends listeners toward The Magnus Archive's anniversary live show at Crossed Wires in Sheffield, where Jonathan Sims and Alexander J. Newell are tied to a new version of Statement Begins. Then the feed drop takes over. Shahan Hamza introduces Hi Nay as a horror drama about Mari, a Filipina immigrant in Toronto who gets pulled into supernatural trouble after saving Laura. The sample starts after the crisis. Mari spent the night helping Laura get to a hospital, but the police conversation turns sour fast. Donner pushes at the lie. Murphy keeps the gentler side of the room, warm enough to feel friendly and firm enough to make every answer smaller. Mari keeps talking because stopping might be worse. She asks why she would lie after staying with Laura through recovery, whether the danger was an animal, a maniac, or something else. Laura has already talked. That leaves Mari boxed in. Believe Laura and she sounds unstable. Doubt Mari and she sounds dishonest. The CCTV may change things, once the detectives get the footage from the building. Mari pushes too hard. Donner's scowl could be theater, until he hands her a phone number and lets her leave like he knows exactly what she is hiding. Then nothing happens for days. Laura recovers with family in Oakville and stays away while the investigation sits open. The first call is careful. Laura wants to introduce herself properly and talk about what happened, while Mari pushes the conversation off. The feed shifts again at the end, with a promotion for From the Library of Jurgen Leitner and its dangerous library, where Hugh Franklin and Sebastian Everett may already be in too deep.
