Feed Drop: Fear Daily

January 17, 2025·26 min·2 clips
A night hunting trip turns horrifying when a massive winged creature emerges from a thicket and vanishes before their eyes.
The episode opens with a host introduction from Nicole, who frames Fear Daily as a short-form horror anthology drawn from ghost stories left on a 1990s online bulletin board still operating somewhere in Pennsylvania's Rust Belt. The show is described as daily, bite-sized, and produced by Brandon Schech-Snyder and Brennan Storr. The first story, Night Hunting, is posted by user emmer1525 and dated July 15, 2019. The narrator describes his Vietnam-veteran father's post-war fearlessness and the family habit of illegal night hunting. On a particular summer night in 1975, the father becomes visibly agitated during the hunt, repeatedly checking behind him despite no audible cause. The narrator notes an unnatural silence in the forest. Following their usual tactic, the two brothers attempt to flush game from a thicket at their father's signal, but a massive winged creature—described as having a 15-to-20-foot wingspan—bursts out, brushes their faces, and vanishes rather than flying away. Gary, the younger brother, is scratched on the cheek by the creature. That night, the narrator wakes in a state of sleep paralysis and observes a featureless black figure standing over Gary, whispering for him to go to the forest. Gary rises and follows, and the narrator passes out before he can act. The next morning, Gary is never found. The second story, The Day It Didn't Rain, is posted by user Illinois Dad Guy and dated May 23rd, 1997. A man named Shelly's husband leaves his office during lunch to get food before an incoming storm. He finds the streets, the office park, and a nearby fast food restaurant completely empty, with food abandoned mid-preparation. The storm arrives with apocalyptic force—biblical rain, multicolored lightning, and winds that push his car off the road. After hydroplaning and losing control, he opens his eyes to find the storm gone and himself facing the wrong direction on a sunny road. A passing woman treats the event as entirely unremarkable, leaving him shaken and unable to explain what happened.
