Dawg Talk LIVE with Rusty Mansell: Clean, Old-Fashioned Hate

November 25, 2025·50 min·4 clips
Haynes King ran as hard as he could in last year's eight-overtime thriller against Georgia.
Good evening, Thanksgiving week. Rusty opens by thanking servicemen, first responders, nurses, firemen, police officers, and everyone working while other people are home. Then the show eases into football. Hotel Indigo gets its Athens moment, with relatives, dinner, beverages, and a place to stay worked into the flow. The sponsor read sounds local, which fits the show. Once the chat settles, the focus turns to Clean Old-Fashioned Hate and Friday at Mercedes-Benz. Buster Faulkner gets a real chunk of time. Rusty calls him a good dude, says plenty of people around Athens love him, and still leaves no doubt that nobody is wishing him luck Friday. That is the line. Faulkner has good players around him, is not jumping at just anything, and probably has a Power Five head-coach path ahead at some point. There is some personal texture too. His son Harrison comes up as a North Oconee quarterback headed to Georgia Southern, and Buster's closeness with Mike Bobo gives the week some room for smack talk. From there, the injury talk gets more careful. Talon Taylor is not expected back for contact yet, though Rusty sees December as possible. The caveat is doing work here. Taylor has been out a long time, and the Alabama-game ending still hangs over the update. Still, Georgia likes him, and Rusty keeps circling the bigger point: whatever happens this year, Taylor is seen as a big piece of the future. Kyron Jones is less clear. Kirby's wording about him trying to get back does not land the same way as the cleaner updates on Drew Bobo and Ernest Green. Rusty hears something in that difference. The close shifts back to community mode, with Dogs HQ, Jake Rowe, Jeremy Johnson, Jake Roos, and a nudge to give the coverage a try. One bigger door stays cracked. Next week could be Georgia and Alabama, but Friday at 3:30 still comes first.

As heard by us

Thanksgiving-week Georgia talk that turns injury updates into a practical Friday preview.

Rusty keeps this Thanksgiving-week Georgia segment grounded in the stuff fans actually care about. He opens with a nod to the people working the holiday, then moves through Clean, Old-Fashioned Hate, the Mercedes-Benz game, and the uneasy read on Buster Faulkner.
