FH Mini - Holiday Hallmarking, with Amber Nash

December 13, 2025·56 min·3 clips
Amber Nash describes realizing by season three that she 'got lucky' with Pam, a character who 'gets to say the worst things all the time and is somehow still lovable.'
Flop TV gets its business handled first. The hosts point listeners toward monthly streams, bad movies by decade, video on demand, and holiday binging. Then the introductions start to wobble. Dan, Stuart, and Elliot say hello, Elliot keeps his name around for book-marketing purposes, and Amber Nash joins with the exact right patience for this kind of nonsense. The setup is thin in the best way. They seem to be reading or guessing holiday Hallmark material, then treating every visual clue like proof of a fake movie that no one should trust but everyone can instantly picture. The hospital bit takes off fast. A pregnant mystery, some guys standing around, a possible camel, and a doctor waking up to fulfilled dreams all get crammed into one very festive pitch. Nobody lets the idea breathe for long. Dan tries to leave room for other guesses, while everyone else keeps catching the wrong details: no scrubs, a half sweater, finance energy, an Apple Watch. Wardrobe becomes evidence. Red and green costuming gets treated like holiday law, until the Bills wander into the logic and mess up the color theory. Then Canada gets pulled in. Red and green becomes Red Green, because apparently the fake Hallmark code needed regional comedy history attached to it. The actual plot eventually shows itself. Alice, an emergency room doctor, volunteers for Christmas Eve at a rural hospital in snowy weather, while Brian, a top-rated cardiologist, helps with a string of births. The analysis is real, if barely housebroken. Beneath the interruptions, they are reading Hallmark's visual habits, religious edges, romance machinery, and the way these movies make every prop look suspicious. Amber lands in the rhythm easily. Near the end, her Atlanta character show gets a mini-riff of its own, and the room signs off through producer thanks, network thanks, and one last Happy Hallmark flourish. It is tidy only by accident.

As heard by us

A loose, funny Hallmark riff session where Amber Nash helps turn Christmas movie logic into cozy seasonal nonsense.

The Flop House turns a holiday mini into a Hallmark premise game, with Dan McCoy, Stuart Wellington, Elliot Kalin, and guest Amber Nash tossing around Christmas movie logic until the fake plots sound just plausible enough to pass.

Why you'd press play

Hallmark Christmas movies, but everyone is clearly having a better time than the plots deserve.
