Georgia Rosenblum narrates from beyond the grave: she died in 2008, and someone is still urinating on her tombstone every football season.
The episode opens at Super Bowl XXXIV in 2000 at the Georgia Dome, where Georgia Rosenblum — played by Toni Collette — is introduced as the owner of the LA Rams. She then addresses the listener from her grave, noting she died in 2008 and that LA fans still visit her tombstone to relieve themselves each football season. She frames the series as her own corrective account of events. The story jumps back to April 2nd, 1979, when news breaks that Carol Rosenblum, 72-year-old owner of the LA Rams, has drowned off Golden Beach, Florida. Georgia is immediately grieving but also anxious: Carol's attorney Edward Hoogstraten calls to say the will contains something unexpected and urges her to buckle up. Georgia asks Mel, her housekeeper, for a tarot reading. Georgia organizes two funerals: a small family ceremony in South Florida and a 900-person Hollywood spectacle at their Bel Air mansion. The LA funeral features nine eulogists including a rabbi, a priest, NFL team owners, comedian Jonathan Winters, and roaster Don Rickles. Georgia arrives late, performs songs, and hosts dancing on the tennis court. Guests whisper that she is making a circus of a funeral. Steve Rosenblum quietly tells a catering worker he believes his father's drowning was not accidental. At the will reading, Hoogstraten reveals that Carol left 70% of the Rams to Georgia and 30% split among his five children, with Steve managing the team under Georgia's direction. Steve erupts, rips the will, accuses Georgia of scheming, and suggests she took Carol to Florida with a plan. Georgia has Mel escort him out. Steve leaves with a threat: she has no idea what is coming.

As heard by us

A glossy Super Bowl drama where pageantry and menace keep trading the spotlight.

Madam Ram turns the 2000 Super Bowl into a tense, glossy pressure cooker, with a widow on the sideline whose story sits between triumph and scandal. Toni Collette stars, and the series keeps stadium spectacle, roast energy, and private unease in the same frame.
