14: The Second Circle

August 15, 2025·24 min·2 clips
The investigators confront Tozer with his crimes and he admits everything freely, then casually reveals the worst thing he did was murder a stranger because a voice from the final circle told him to. It was his daughter's voice.
The episode unfolds through multiple narrators. Tozer tells interrogators he chose Saxton, British Columbia, as his destination for the Concentrics' second circle challenge, which required him to build a new life under a fake name and earn twelve thousand crypto dollars. A local woman describes watching the mysterious stranger arrive with a fancy suitcase and settle into her aunt's guest house, where he was discovered to have rooms full of circular diagrams and the repeated question 'what is at the center?' alongside a photo of a young woman named Mary Ann. Meanwhile, a gun store worker narrates a cascading technology failure across two towns as crypto registers crash simultaneously. Rumors spread about EMPs and microscopic bugs from a nearby DECA facility, evoking an elderly woman's memories of technology failures before World War Three. The truth proves more mundane but equally unsettling: Tozer used a scrambler to brick new tablets, swapped them into store sleeves during his cleaning shifts, and stole all the un-blockchained crypto before disappearing. When confronted by interrogators, Tozer freely admits to the crimes but says the money theft is far from the worst thing he has done. He reveals he murdered a stranger because a voice from the final circle instructed him to, and that voice belonged to his daughter Marianne.
