2. Control

March 22, 2021·41 min·3 clips
They discuss Peter denying Jesus three times as a response to feeling out of control and fearful.
Rain opens the room. Chris and Eddie ease into losing control like people who know the subject does not need to be rushed. They start with ordinary life. A move to Pennsylvania has a plan behind it, until housing, work, children, and a new community begin pushing back. The pressure stays close to the ground. Losing control is not treated as a meltdown. It is what happens when outside circumstances start pulling at the inside of a life. His confidence around Jesus, and his promise not to deny him, turn control into something painfully familiar. There is enough dry humor to keep the episode from getting stiff. Peter the punk gets a laugh, but the point still lands. By the end, the hosts widen the table. This is an open community conversation about human experience, not just two people talking privately. Control becomes less like a problem to fix and more like something people admit together, slowly, without pretending it goes away.
