The gang is all here. Amigo Aaron starts the year-end awards by getting The Brent and John Boat together for the kind of network-wide retro hangout they say rarely happens. The setup stays simple: look back at 2024, compare their picks with listener and viewer picks, talk numbers, and laugh when the room wanders. It has that awards-night looseness where a fighting stance, a nightcap comeback, and real game judgment can all sit at the same table. Then the Atari ST gets its turn. Pirates comes in as the number one Discord listener pick for the ST, and the room gives it a respectful nod instead of a victory parade. Brent understands the choice, especially for people who grew up with it, even if his own taste leans harder toward giant robots than pirates. That is the appeal of the episode. Nobody hides personal bias under fake neutrality. They drag it out, tag it, and let it help shape the verdict. The worst-game pick is harder. Brent says the ST lineup was mostly middle of the road this year, which is almost good news after previous years with some truly miserable alleged demo-type offenders. Targon takes the hit. The exploration, object use, and adventure basics get some credit, but the swordplay sinks it. If half the game becomes shoving an enemy against a back wall and hoping to survive, the mock courtroom has enough to work with. Even then, they leave room for mercy. Brent thinks more time and polish could have made Targon a fine game, so the verdict feels less like cheap snark and more like someone disappointed by a part that almost fit. Aaron takes a different path with Bonanza Bros., a game he disliked in the arcade, disliked in other ports, and still dislikes here. Sometimes consistency just means suffering with paperwork. The ending softens. After the jokes and rankings, they thank supporters, Patreons, and the Amigos crowd for keeping the shows moving into 2025.
