'This isn't going away' - The Arsenal agenda & Mansfield (a) preview

March 6, 2026·47 min·4 clips
Harry Symeou mocks the narrative that Mikel Arteta is an evil sorcerer who made Arsenal boring to watch.
Harry starts in matchday mode. Mansfield away in the FA Cup is coming, the kickoff is early, and he has a live watch-along planned. He promises loose commentary, not some forced act where everyone pretends Arsenal have been electric. He knows the football has dragged. That honesty helps, because he does not try to dress up dull games as anything else. Then the mood turns. The thing bothering him is the idea that Arsenal are now the team for slow restarts and long delays. Harry is not buying it. He goes back through the Brighton example and says that, before that match, Arsenal had only appeared in three of the top twenty delay-heavy games. So what is the story, really? To him, calling it an Arsenal problem skips the wider Premier League picture and lets an easy narrative carry the argument. He gets sharper on David Raya. The restart-delay criticism, he says, does not fit the numbers, because 17 Premier League goalkeepers take longer on average after a pickup or claim. Look at the numbers, is basically the refrain. The monologue is annoyed, but it is not just noise. He is trying to separate fair criticism from a lazy pile-on. He accepts one complaint without much fuss. If someone says Arsenal have been boring to watch, fine. He has said the same kind of thing himself. That is his line. Call dull football dull, call a tough watch a tough watch, but do not turn that frustration into an agenda. Mansfield is still sitting there in the background. By the end he is back on the watch-along, asking supporters to join him for the full ninety minutes. It feels like fan radio: one supporter arguing with the noise, checking the numbers, checking himself, and talking like the chat is already open.

As heard by us

A frank Arsenal listen that argues back with numbers, but never lets the frustration disappear.

Harry Simeon's Friday Arsenal show pushes back on the talk around delays, time-wasting, and David Raya, with Mansfield away in the FA Cup and a live watch along set for Saturday.
