The Bloomdaddy Experience with Otis & Sam April 8, 2026

Economic strategist Dan Veroni explains how energy prices are driving up your grocery bills right now.
The hour starts with sticker shock. At 7:06, Bloomdaddy looks at graduates crossing stages with degrees that may never pay for themselves. His example is close to home: a family member's daughter is graduating with an art degree, and the first question is the hard, boring one: what job comes after that? Brenda Seary does not dress it up. As a hiring expert, she says families should ask tougher questions before spending on fine arts, theater, or writing paths. Then the show turns sharply. The later conversation moves to threats toward Iranian people, the ceasefire, sanctions, and the uneasy sense that nobody at the table can see the whole situation. One voice draws the moral line. If the stated goal is helping Iranian people, threatening Iranian people sounds wrong, however hot the wartime talk gets. Another voice is colder: if it is the United States people against Iran people, the United States comes first. Nobody acts as if the story is settled. They say the reporting is changing fast, and the Strait, toll talk, sanctions, and money questions still have to play out. The mood never really relaxes. There is relief that a civilization was not wiped out overnight, but no confidence that the next chapter is clear. That uncertainty feeds the broader frustration: classified information, public trust, and a government with less room for compromise. Then the clock takes over. Music pushes them out, and the heavy morning gives way to a free lunch randomizer, with Nicholas getting the call.
