Episode 203 - Hush Little Baby

February 16, 2016·37 min·3 clips
Alex Regan reveals she's seeing shadows and hearing sounds that make her question if she's ever truly alone.
The calls finally reach Strand. After the studio gets patched back together and the season two frame snaps into place, Alex gets the short, guarded callback she has been waiting for. Strand has been gone for five days, and nobody treats that like a clean answer to anything. It just sits there, another fact that will not explain itself. Then the housekeeper comes into focus. She worked first for a mother's office, then for the family for over seven years. The person talking about her trusts her completely and says Alex would understand if they met. Alex asks to meet her. Before that can settle, Nick pulls Alex into the studio because something has changed. Strand is already in Studio B. He has been there for hours, sending every intern in the building after a different piece of research. The pace jumps. Nobody has the pattern pinned down, but the room feels like everyone is chasing the same shape. Then the trail turns ugly. The final scene leaves the procedural mood behind and walks into blood, smell, and buzzing. Alex describes something sick, sweet, and metallic, like wet iron mixed with rotting meat and honey. Flies fill the room. In the middle of it all, hanging from a ceiling fan by an orange extension cord, is the housekeeper, Maddie.
