Episode 107 - Cabin Fever

August 4, 2015·35 min·3 clips
Tannis Braun identifies a demonic face on the cabin wall, linking it to Sebastian's abduction.
The tape begins unevenly. Strand returns one of Alex Regan's 11 calls, and the recording leaves in the awkward business of rebuilding an intro. The shine comes off fast. Alex says the season is about the Strand Institute, then admits it has veered toward Strand's wife and her disappearance. That does not go away. Another story comes in: someone seen standing over a bed, someone else gone for five days. Nobody says more than they can prove. The interview settles on Sebastian, but not in a tidy case-file way. His absence feels like a spot everyone keeps circling. A psychic heads west and, in Sebastian's room, says he senses no nearby victim. He senses a presence with purpose and dark intent. Alex asks what that means. The answer turns into a theory of the guest's own mind: a gift noticed at age three, a brain supposedly open from birth, memory filed away like storage instead of dumped in a heap. It is neat, maybe too neat. Alex keeps pushing the tougher claim, that this organized mind can see outside itself. The word is filocation. The Braun Institute shows up as the place dressing that ability in higher learning and science. Certainty never lands. By the end, Alex will not let the case sit as another unsolved mystery. She has no proof, but it still has her. Even the tease about more than one kind of Ouija board feels like another door opening.
