The Atrocities of the Pirates, Section 4 Part 4, follows the narrator between the magistrate's house and the corsair near the narrow passage, with Serafina, the Dutch ship, and the Havana voyage recurring throughout. 2. The narrator acts as both surgeon and captive, treating the magistrate's bloodied wounds, extracting a ball from an arm, and then being carried back to the ship under pirate guard. 3. Serafina and her mother appear in the magistrate's house, and Serafina tells the narrator she still loves him while she refuses to leave before her father's condition is clear. 4. The pirates return with prisoners, a buried comrade named Pepe, and two bleeding corpses, then carry bodies to the beach, into the sea, and into the swampy passage. 5. The corsair later chases a Dutch vessel, runs up English colors, then the red flag, and forces the Dutch captain to come aboard with his papers. 6. After the Dutch ship is brought into harbor, the narrator dresses a pirate's head wound and then is sent ashore again to the magistrate. 9. Near the narrow passage, the narrator directs the pirates' boat defense, the first volley kills three men, and the prisoner is stabbed after interrogation. 10.
