Kilt & Gore Play It Safe: The One With The Studio Audience
November 29, 2018
The episode opens with a live studio audience announcement that the show is filmed live in front of an audience, immediately breaking the fourth wall. Kilt and Gore find themselves in an unfamiliar coffee shop where coffees are waiting under the names Kurt and Garf. They encounter Guy, a friendly stranger who acts like a long-standing member of their friend group, confusing Gore entirely. The barista and other patrons also behave as if they are all part of a regular social circle. After stepping aside, Kilt admits to Gore that he signed a trans-dimensional talent search form that he found in a spam email, motivated by browser extension survey rewards. This has apparently given a demon called Zalgraloth contractual permission to alter reality and produce a live sitcom using Kilt and Gore as unwitting stars. Zalgraloth arrives at the coffee shop acting as a Hollywood-style producer with a shooting schedule and character notes, threatening to recast if Kilt does not cooperate. Gore confronts Kilt about the digital contract, and Kilt notes that he never uses real personal information on signup forms. When Zalgraloth produces the contract, Kilt's last name is listed as Redacted. This invalidates the contract, forcing Zalgraloth to leave and take the studio audience with him. The episode closes with the demon's threat that the pair will never work in this reality again, and Kilt asking if anyone will finish the mochaccino.
