The episode opens in medias res with Kilt and Gorr awkwardly maneuvering a heavy steamer chest down to their car after completing a supernatural job. They reflect on a successful mission neutralizing phlegm sprites that were guarding a totem they had to deliver to a client. Gorr receives a large cash payment while Kilt's cut was the steamer chest itself, which he reveals contains a staircase to the basement of the Alamo. During the car ride home, Gorr asks Kilt how he heals himself so quickly after injuries. Kilt explains that everyone in his bloodline can absorb and manipulate emotional energy — he focuses on positive energy for healing and defense, while Blue manipulates negative energy for offensive power. Kilt demonstrates negative energy's drawback by briefly channeling it and charring his own arms, then heals himself. He describes Blue's spectre or wraith mode, where Blue becomes less physically present, and contrasts it with his own enhancement mode that makes him more real and naturally draws people to follow him. This explains why Kilt leads over Blue despite Blue being their mother's favorite. They call Blue, who is leaving a Janelle Monáe concert with Recursive, and confirm they will arrive home at the same time. At home, Kilt and Gorr set up in the billiards room and are preparing Hot Pockets when a supernatural entity appears, targeting Gorr. The entity is fast, strong, and has a tail, wings, and claws — revealed to be a succubus or similar being. Kilt defends Gorr by invoking Bob protection and fighting with white magic. The entity notes Kilt's unusual level of white magic power with surprise but observes he is weakening. Kilt stalls until Blue arrives, at which point Kilt calls out the shield and spear formation. The attacker is eventually driven off, but Gorr and Blue find Kilt across the room in an apparently dire state, with Blue showing increasing panic as the episode cuts off.
