Original first pressings of 1970s Pink Floyd or Led Zeppelin vinyl can be worth between $10,000 and $20,000.
The room opens loose and familiar. Curtis and Todd welcome the Buzzheads, admit their 70s memories may need correcting, and point everyone toward the Facebook Live room. The business gets a little crooked. A phone number gets tested out loud, fixed in real time, and shrugged off with the patience of people who have done this before. Live comments keep pulling at the table. Jason Scott checks in, Gretchen drops a line about Dave and a Taco Bell bean burrito, and the whole thing feels more like a clubhouse than a program. The main stretch gets surprisingly small. Hearing aids become the topic, not in a medical way, but through the odd shock of suddenly hearing sounds that were always there. Bugs are louder than expected. A car window has a click or clack that may have been there for years, which makes aging feel annoying and pretty funny. They compare the new ear gear to AirPods. One likes answering calls while walking the trail, while the other explains the button timing that can accidentally send a spam pitch right into your ear. The details are ordinary. The charm comes from hearing them notice tiny things, correct each other, and let the listeners sit close enough to catch the drift. There is no clean argument. The conversation moves through little discoveries, half-finished thoughts, and the feeling that everybody listening has a memory or complaint to add. The ending nearly happens twice. They start to sign off, remember one more thing, and slide into collecting toys from the 60s and why there was no real reason to save 80s stuff. Then the old refrain lands. All the toys and cool stuff came from the 70s, because, as Todd prompts and Curtis helps frame it, that was the greatest decade known to man.

As heard by us

A loose, neighborly nostalgia hangout that turns everyday noise into a joke about aging and memory.

The 70's Buzz Podcast uses a Facebook Live check-in to settle into a loose, funny conversation about getting older, noticing hearing more than before, and looking back on the 70s through ordinary talk.
