Texas Rangers - The Lucky Dollar

April 6, 2026·30 min·1 clip
The thief stole 'the lucky dollar' — the store's very first dollar bill — but left a torn corner still stuck under the tape on the register.
A dollar does the work. Ramos says Larson gave him the bill after closing, when he was paid off. Larson tells it differently. A girl put three dollars down on a red silk dress and said she would come back today with the rest. Pearson asks the simple things: name, address, receipt. There is no name and no address, only the deposit receipt. That gives him enough reason to wait. Pearson and the sheriff hide in the back while Larson keeps the store running as if nothing has changed. The sheriff wants a clean answer right away. Pearson gives him the Lucky Dollar and a little dry patience. Announcements break into the program, then the case picks up again. Trade comes and goes, but nobody asks for red silk until the girl walks in. She asks for the dress, pays six dollars, and Larson goes to get it. The sheriff knows the trap has sprung. Pearson slows him down, steps out, and starts with name and residence. Small scene, tight pressure. A bill, a receipt, and a dress carry the whole investigation. The broadcast around it gets noisy, so the stakeout is the part worth isolating.
