·1 hr 41 min·5 clips

Pete Kennedy and Cody O'Connor fire off rapid takes on the Mets, Yankees, and Knicks as the NBA playoffs loom.

The episode opens with host Pete Kennedy and guest Cody O'Connor setting the scene for a rapid-fire discussion on New York sports. They first dive into the Mets, analyzing the first 10-11 games of the season. Cody notes the strangeness of a new-look roster with players like Bo Bichette, Jorge Polanco, and Luis Robert, who haven't yet become familiar to fans. The conversation focuses on the pitching staff, debating whether Freddie Peralta can be a true ace by consistently going six innings to save the bullpen. They express cautious optimism about Kodai Senga's stuff returning to form and the potential of the bullpen with Devin Williams and Brooks Raley. The discussion then addresses Juan Soto's calf strain injury and how the lineup must adjust. Cody defends Francisco Lindor against early-season criticism, citing his history as a slow starter. They analyze the lineup's depth and power distribution post-Pete Alonso. Shifting to the Yankees, they praise the pitching staff's hot start despite missing Gerrit Cole and Carlos Rodón. A key question emerges about leadoff hitter Trent Grisham and whether he can replicate his unexpected 34-home-run season. The importance of a healthy Giancarlo Stanton's presence in the lineup is emphasized. The final segment transitions to the NBA as playoffs approach. They assess the Oklahoma City Thunder as favorites but not locks, and debate Eastern Conference contenders. Cody argues the Detroit Pistons, with Cade Cunningham, are undervalued at 25-to-1 odds. A significant portion is spent comparing the Cleveland Cavaliers and New York Knicks, with both hosts perplexed that sportsbooks give the Cavs better title odds than the Knicks. They critique the Cavs' playoff history and James Harden's addition, while highlighting the Knicks' proven core and success against the Celtics. The episode concludes with analysis of the Knicks' starting lineup and the need to better utilize Karl-Anthony Towns offensively.
