Jim Dickinson's Head - Harold Ward copy

·19 min·1 clip
Jim Dickinson's pickled head grins malevolently from a jar in a doctor's closet, fifty years after being severed in a potter's field.
A narrator recounts the gruesome tale of Jim Dickinson, a vicious one-eyed outlaw in a lawless frontier camp. After losing his head in a poker game to the drunken Doc Wright, Dickinson continues his brutal reign until a jealous fit, a hidden bear trap, and a prophesied black cat lead to his ironic demise, allowing the doctor to finally claim his macabre prize.

As heard by us

A grotesque slow burn with a grim, old fashioned finish.

Jim Dickinson's head in a jar of alcohol in Dr. Wright's office is the image that lingers, and the black cat warning gives the ending a sealed, almost superstitious feel.
