Still Buffering: SNL UK (2026)

April 7, 2026·51 min·1 clip
Sydney and Taylor debate why SNL UK's sketches about Prince Andrew feel more biting and less restrained than U.S. SNL's Trump impressions.
The first stop is PAX East. Taylor compares it with New York Comic Con, where a promising schedule can still turn into lines, wandering, and one rude sandwich price. PAX sounds calmer. She found a Boston convention that ran well, with hero-ranking panels, talk about therapy in games, drag shows, and performers somehow steering a flock of seagulls. Then Sydney asks whether taking honey bothers the bees. That should be simple, but it becomes a tiny imagined bee voice and a quick escape from bee biology before the image settles in too hard. The greenhouse thread veers into a TikTok about medieval vegetables, plus a mild eye-roll at conspiracy-flavored talk about big agriculture. Still, the plants make a decent case for themselves. Skirret, Good King Henry, and Rampion sound less like novelty gardening and more like a sturdy backyard experiment in forgotten food. Good King Henry gets the spotlight: spinachy leaves, flower parts that lean broccoli-ish, and roots that can be used like radish. That is a lot of usefulness packed into one plant. The annoying part is waiting. From seed, it can take about two years to fully germinate, but once these perennials settle in, they keep producing. That is the charm of the tangent. Old crops become a Still Buffering argument for curiosity, harmless obsession, and giving weird old things another chance. Near the end, Jamie Dornan sends the show back toward a soldier-and-his-mom sketch, and the hosts squeeze in one last amused aside. Edgy, funny, a little awkward. The episode works because the conversation keeps passing odd premises back and forth until conventions, gardening, comedy, and food all end up at the same table.

As heard by us

A loose, funny Still Buffering chat where PAX East, old vegetables, bees, and SNL UK all get folded into the same wandering conversation.

Still Buffering uses SNL UK as the nominal destination, but the episode is happier taking the long way there. Sidney and Taylor start with Taylor's trip to PAX East, where the appeal is less celebrity spectacle than a convention that actually lets people do things: panels, live…
