Avsnitt 538 – Tårtan är tillbaka! Och kaos i Toronto
April 1, 2026·1 hr·5 clips
Vegas shocks the NHL by firing Stanley Cup-winning coach Bruce Cassidy with only eight games left.
The show opens in full hockey-night mode. A singalong gives way to Per Bjurman in New York and Jonathan Ekeliv heading toward Easter in Norway, plus the usual dry confusion about how differently people treat the holiday. Then Toronto barges in. Gudas, the earlier knee hit, and Toronto's weak-looking reaction are the meat of it. Max Domi changes the mood fast. Off the first faceoff, he goes at Gudas, and the hosts treat it as Toronto finally answering for something it had been called out for letting slide. But the game still has to be won. Toronto takes it, and the third period is where the team looks sharp instead of just irritated. Tavares and William Nylander pull it along. Nylander gets plenty of love, with the running joke that he has moved ahead of his father Mikael at the top of the family table. In a Toronto team the show flatly calls poor, William's production comes off as one of the cleaner things in the mess. Gudas makes the whole thing odder. He had apologized for the kneeing, sounded sorry, and was apparently hurt himself, yet still decided this was not a game he could skip. That reads like accountability. The hosts also find it strange that he mostly lets Domi throw without giving much back, as if he came prepared to take the receipt. Their read is simple: missing the game would have looked cowardly, so Gudas showed up, took the heat, and stood under his own mistake. Around that, the episode keeps its loose house rhythm: jokes, songs, Easter talk, Aftonbladet signoff business, and a late run through Tampa, Hedman, Sinatra, Victor Noreen, Bolin, and Plants. Blunt, funny, and more interested in hockey code than moral speeches.
