Starship Troopers (1997) - Movie Review! #571

·1 hr 46 min·5 clips
Attention starts the room. The cold open goes straight at Starship Troopers' drill-sergeant routine, then Money Mike turns it into the usual loose roll call. The boat is semi-full. Stevie is out, Corey is ready, and the prompt asks for either a scary bug encounter or some familiar propaganda. Corey takes the darker option. His intro has the show's blunt, joking rhythm, and the review treats the movie's military absurdity as both funny and worth reading seriously. Then the plot recap gets rowdy. Jake Busey is named, corrected, and praised as Ace, with the panel talking about how much he looks like Gary Busey. Johnny climbs for a minute, then falls apart. The group stays on the live-fire helmet mistake, the teammate's death, and the ten lashes in front of everyone. That punishment does not fix him. Johnny still wants out because Carmen dumped him, his whole reason for joining breaks, and he no longer feels like he belongs there. Then Buenos Aires gets hit, with timing so neat the panel cannot leave it alone. Basic training becomes the main handle. The panel compares that stretch to Full Metal Jacket and Jarhead, while the review keeps wandering in good Spoilers fashion. South Bend native Hank from Breaking Bad gets spotted, procedure turns into a character test, and recap keeps becoming challenge questions. Nobody handles it gently. It sounds like friends arguing through a violent sci-fi satire while laughing at casting, rank, punishment, and propaganda. By the end, the episode drifts into movie-pick trading, Josh's silence, spreadsheet jokes, and Rob Schneider trilogy confusion, closing like the review accidentally wandered into housekeeping.
