Gruncles & Doctors That Aren’t Doctors - Spit Hits! - Comedy Podcast

January 29, 2026·56 min·4 clips
The studio is freezing. The crew opens by joking through a sandwich, a strange screen moment, and the kind of draft that makes everyone act personally insulted by the weather. They keep circling back to how absurdly cold it feels, comparing it to Florida snow and treating thirty degrees like a public emergency. Boat language becomes the next target. They argue that boats get stuck with terrible class names and that nobody should have to live in a world where a sedan gets more respect than a nice boat. Chauffeurs enter the picture. The fantasy is simple at first: have somebody drive you everywhere and suddenly going downtown does not feel like such a project. Then the guilt shows up. It turns out somebody has to sit in the car, and the hosts immediately start inventing ways to make that waiting feel less awkward. The driver gets a phone. Maybe a movie. Maybe Netflix. Maybe a life of his own, if the arrangement is fair enough. That is not where the bit stays. It veers into dry-cleaning errands and the nightmare of being dropped somewhere while your driver goes off to handle your chores. A mannequin becomes the fix. Put the fake version of you in the car. Obviously. The problem with that idea is that it sounds ridiculous even as they keep talking themselves into it. Then the doctor talk circles back to the old doctorate confusion. They end up on the idea that non-MDs need something obvious in front of their name so nobody gets fooled. Somewhere in there, somebody remembers that you can get a speeding ticket on a lake. That lands like the kind of fact this show seems happiest to discover. The whole thing keeps snapping from one small obsession to the next. Nobody settles down. That is the point. They turn a pile of unrelated nonsense into a running argument, then keep hammering the same joke from a new angle until it starts to feel like policy. By the end, the repeated fix-it energy has become the joke itself.

As heard by us

A cold studio becomes a fast, unruly round of boat classes, chauffeur logic, and mannequin nonsense.

Three hosts turn a cold studio, a ham-and-cheese sandwich with potato cream, and a string of absurd hypotheticals into a brisk, self-important comedy game.
