Gypsy Rose Blanchard & 2023 Pop-Astrology in Review

·1 hr 3 min·5 clips

Two comedians discover they both thought Gypsy Rose Blanchard was a Broadway revival, not a true crime story.

The episode begins with hosts Sara Armour and Molly Mulshine introducing their year-in-review format, recorded at the last minute. They immediately dive into a shared misunderstanding about Gypsy Rose Blanchard, confusing her with Gypsy Rose Lee from the Broadway musical. This leads to a discussion of the story's details, including the mother's Munchausen by proxy and the name's origin from Guns N' Roses. The hosts then transition to reviewing 2023's pop culture highlights, starting with Prince Harry's memoir leaks and Rihanna's Super Bowl performance. They connect these events to astrological movements, such as Saturn moving into Pisces in March, which they link to reality TV scandals like Scandoval. The conversation covers Kim Kardashian's 'quiet girl era', Pamela Anderson's documentary, and the BAFTAs performance by a singer they can't name. They analyze Meghan Markle's Leo traits conflicting with royal expectations and Harry's earth sign energy. The hosts debate the Angela Bassett BAFTAs moment as a sign of shifting identity politics in entertainment. They trace Taylor Swift's breakup with Joe Alwyn and new relationship with Travis Kelce, tying it to Jupiter moving into Taurus. The episode also touches on Britney Spears' memoir, Ariana Grande's scandal, and the Lizzo lawsuit. Throughout, the hosts weave in personal reflections on death, Capricorn season, and unpaid women's work. They conclude by hoping for less moralizing in entertainment and better real-world policies for women, ending with a promo for their Patreon.
