"RE-RELEASE: Jenny Slate"

November 13, 2025·44 min·3 clips
Jenny Slate took 120 times the recommended THC dose and could not figure out what language Amelie was in.
The cold open starts with fake workout swagger. A host says his thighs are pumped, admits almost right away that he never works out, and lets the bit fall apart before it can become a real bit. Then NASA drifts in. The Voyager story has distance and mystery, but almost no usable detail, so the others treat it like the half-story it is. Neck pain turns out to have better legs. Even the MRI update gets pushed aside once a stronger story appears, because tidy order never has much of a chance here. The best run turns childhood punishment into slapstick. Someone remembers being twelve, stuck with four huge bags and a six-mile walk after being told to learn how to clean his room. His solution is perfectly dumb: wear as much as possible, turn the bags into layers, and arrive home looking absurdly pleased with himself. The room clearly loves the workaround. It is less a parenting lesson than the memory of a kid feeling like he beat the system. Then another dad story barges in. Dirty dishes become a kitchen-floor punishment, one dish per tile, and everyone clocks it as funny and alarming at the same time. Even the darker edge gets folded back into the bit, with a joke about finding that father for a special Christmas episode. By the end, lunch takes over. The energy dips, carbs sound necessary, and the goodbye keeps snagging on one more food tangent.

As heard by us

Jenny Slate joins SmartLess for a loose, host-heavy re-release built around bad stories, worse parenting, and quick comic pile-ons.

SmartLess re-releases Jenny Slate into a show that starts in peak nonsense mode: fake workout bragging, a half-told Voyager update, neck MRI bait, and haircut business that somehow becomes its own little pileup.
