1. Sisters Who Kill: A True Crime Podcast centers this episode on Yvette Taylor and the death of Theodore Crew. 2. Marah and Tez host the story, and they matter because they frame Yvette’s history, the police response, and the trial arguments. 3. The episode asks whether Yvette Taylor’s violence pattern explains the killing of Theodore Crew, or whether investigators built an easy case. 4. Yvette Taylor was born in 1965 in Georgia, and the hosts say she later lived near Augusta before the 1991 shooting of her brother Jerry Taylor. 5. During that 1991 argument, Yvette and Jerry fought over a gun, the weapon discharged, and Jerry was shot in the eye three times. 6. Yvette took a plea to involuntary manslaughter, received a 10-year sentence, and served eight years before later arrests interrupted the timeline. 7. In 1997, police arrested Yvette for threatening to kill a woman with a knife, and the charge was reduced to simple battery. 8. In 2004, she was accused of attacking a roommate in Harlem, Georgia with a broken beer bottle. 9. In 2006, she was accused of hitting her boyfriend in the face with a beer bottle, and he did not press charges. 10. Around 2011, Yvette began working as a live-in caretaker for Theodore Crew, who had retired after 20 years as a longshoreman. 11. Theodore Crew was born on April 5, 1948 in Eppinger, Georgia, was raised in Savannah by Aunt Josie, and had worked his way into retirement by 1989. 12. On February 11, 2012, Yvette told neighbor Tanya Griffin she was angry because Theodore had defecated on himself and she did not want to keep caring for him. 13. Later that night, neighbors heard yelling, thumping, and Theodore calling out before police found him naked on the bathroom floor. 14. The hosts say Yvette used a knife and another object, left Theodore with 21 blunt-force injuries and 17 sharp-force injuries, and then poured bleach over the scene. 15. Police found blood on a chair, on the floor, and on the walls, plus an IGA bag in the woods with clothes, paper towels, a beer can, and a box cutter. 16. Yvette first told police she left after going to Tanya Griffin’s house and later returned to find Theodore dead, but she later told Sergeant April March that she had cut him. 17. Judge Bernard Moon Heron Sr. denied bond because he believed Yvette posed a threat to the community. 18. The defense argued that investigators skipped fingerprinting the front door and bathroom and failed to test all the blood evidence at the scene. 19. The tone is conversational, blunt, and story-driven, with Marah and Tez interrupting each other and adding commentary as they go. 20. Listeners who like Georgia true-crime cases with trial details will get the most from this episode, while listeners who want a short, tightly edited recap may skip it.
