Your calling is not always connected to the pulpit.
He starts with one phrase and keeps returning to it: learn to function in your calling. The problem, he says, is less mystery than confusion. Too many people talk like they have a calling without knowing what it is. Social media makes the noise louder. If you do not learn how to live in what God gave you, he warns, you are open to bigger mistakes. And when you minister to people, those mistakes can become malpractice. He keeps pressing the listener to slow down and ask what God actually called them to do. The message is not about doing everything. It is about doing the thing that belongs to you. He gives a trade example to make it plain. Some people can build, he says, even without school. That does not mean everybody is supposed to build. Calling can include an ability God simply gives. He tells the listener not to feel bad for missing somebody else's lane. Stay comfortable in your own assignment, he says. A lot of people are not really following God on this matter. They are copying one another instead. He compares that to taking medication with somebody else's name on it, and the warning lands hard. He ends by praying for people in nursing homes and hospitals, saying they may be the last witness between someone and a terrible choice.
