Halloween Special 2025: Call of Cthulhu – The Haunting Session 01

·1 hr 35 min·5 clips
Police records describe a secret raid on the Chapel of Contemplation and 17 cult members killed.
The recording opens with the table treating the job like something that will probably stretch over several sessions. Mr. Knott brings the group the Corbett House case in central Boston. The house has an old tragedy hanging over it. The former tenants were the Macario family. Knott wants the investigators to figure out what happened and set things right, since he has not been able to rent the house out since then and wants its good name restored. He offers $20 per day plus expenses and hands over the keys, the address, and $20 cash in advance. The crew immediately starts talking research before anyone goes to the house. Newspapers come up first. So do the Boston Globe, the Central Library, and the Hall of Records. The conversation drifts into money, checks, and which skill actually applies. Law gets suggested. Charm and persuade get floated too. One investigator tries fast talk and gets sent into the back office. The table jokes about Boston, pacing, sandwiches, and anchovies. Janine ends up handling the file request. The others work through the High Court and its public dockets. The building is huge, and it takes a while to find the right office. The clerk points them toward the records room and the old court books. More law checks follow as they try to work the archive and keep the investigation moving. The session closes with the usual goodbye, a plea for no more ghosts, and a reminder that the crew still has injuries, books, and more work ahead.
