A blizzard warning until 1 PM has closed schools and made roads impassable across northern Wisconsin.
Snow is still the lead. The morning opens with the practical stuff: blizzard warning until one o'clock, wind throwing snow around, schools closed, and travel still not recommended. Nobody is dressing it up. The host keeps coming back to what people actually need to know, like who is closed, who is changing hours, and who is out clearing lots and sidewalks. It feels like local-radio triage, because that is basically what it is. Then the room hits a rough money story about Richard, a 78-year-old DoorDash driver whose wife lost her job and whose medication costs left them squeezed. That one lands. Brittany says she found him after a Starbucks delivery looked hard on video, then started a GoFundMe that blew past $900,000. The reaction is warm, but not gullible. They hope he is better off, while still leaving space for the morning-show instinct that someone should make sure it all checks out. After that, hard pivot. The segment shakes off the heavy part with a rock-radio reset and gets into War Machine: plenty of action, one odd scene, fine enough. Then the movie argument takes over. The back half runs through Jack Ryan, Hunt for Red October, Sean Connery's accent, Russian submarines, and whether those movies still hold up. The answer is pretty unforgiving. Hunt for Red October gets dinged for the not-really-Russian performance, while Sum of All Fears gets thrown in as the better Ben Affleck pick. It is petty, fast, and funny. By the end, the show has gone from dangerous weather to medication bills to movie nitpicking without sanding anything down. Serious local morning, jokes jammed into the corners, listener messages, corrections, and one more reminder that the roads are still a mess.

As heard by us

Snow, hardship, and a movie argument make for a brisk, very human morning listen.

Blizzard warnings, school closures, and a blunt look at road conditions set the frame, then the episode turns to Richard, a 78-year-old DoorDash driver trying to cover his wife's medication after a GoFundMe starts drawing donations and climbs past $900,000.
