ROCK MORNINGS · Brian Simpson

Easter recap. Boomer opinions we agree with. Liquid lunches.

Sherpas and hospitals are accused of poisoning Mount Everest climbers in a $20 million insurance scam.
Monday opens with weather. After the holiday weekend, everyone is already eyeing temperatures climbing back toward the 60s later in the week. Yesterday was mostly fine until a nice day suddenly clouded over during bags before dinner. Then Easter becomes the main event. The egg hunt gets roasted because the hiding was so easy the young adults finished almost right away. Nobody sounds impressed. One host imagines late teenagers and early 20-somethings walking around with phones and baskets, collecting eggs without doing much hunting. The hider takes the blame. The hunters apparently wanted an actual challenge, but the whole thing ended before it had much of a chance. Then the drinks come in. The old peeptinis, made by soaking Peeps in alcohol, were bad but sweet. The replacement is just bad. Bunny Marys turn a Bloody Mary into carrot juice with vodka, lemon juice, and celery seed, which gets questioned immediately. One host asks if anyone tested the recipe first, because it already sounded rough. The answer is clear enough: no, it was not good. The effort gets a little credit, but the advice is basically to workshop it first. By the end, the show has moved through weather, Easter planning, terrible holiday cocktails, listener mail about a name, and a quick Monday signoff.
