2025 Opponents - Pittsburgh Steelers

·1 hr 2 min·5 clips

Mark is on the fence about Aaron Rodgers joining the Steelers, calling it a 'cold take' with unpredictable outcomes.

The episode begins with hosts Robin and Matt introducing a preview show for the Pittsburgh Steelers, featuring guest Mark from the UK Steelers Podcast. They first address an ESPN article ranking the Bills 28th in offense when excluding Josh Allen and the offensive line, sparking debate about its validity and the importance of coaching and team cohesion. Mark then shares his unique story of becoming a Steelers fan nearly 30 years ago after winning an inflatable helmet at a village carnival, narrowly avoiding supporting the Jets. The discussion shifts to the Steelers' 2024 season, where they went 10-7 and lost in the wild card to the Ravens, with Mark expressing frustration over repeated playoff exits under coach Mike Tomlin. They analyze Tomlin's tenure, noting his consistency but lack of recent playoff wins, and compare it to the Bills' situation with Sean McDermott. Offseason moves are detailed, including the signing of Aaron Rodgers, which Mark views with skepticism, and the acquisition of DK Metcalf to bolster the receiving corps. The draft is reviewed, highlighting picks like defensive tackle Derrick Harmon to counter the Ravens' run game and edge rusher Jack Sawyer. Mark predicts an 8-9 season for the Steelers, citing a tough schedule with games against the Bills and Ravens. The episode concludes with Mark identifying defensive lineman Keanu Benton as a hidden gem and promoting the UK Steelers Podcast.
